What runners say
Crossing the finish line in Alba with the Langhe in your legs and then sitting down to Barbaresco wine and white truffle is an experience without equal on the Italian running calendar. You run, then you eat. There's nothing more to say.
Why it's special
A marathon through Barbaresco vineyards and white truffle woods in the Langhe hills, starting and finishing at the foot of Alba's cathedral. At the finish line: a first-class Piedmontese lunch for all participants.
What's around
The Ecomarathon of Barbaresco runs through the heart of the Langhe, across the UNESCO World Heritage landscapes that produce Barolo and Barbaresco. The course winds through the Tanaro river park, the Fenogliani trails, the Barbaresco hills with their panoramic tower, the medieval village of Neive and the Rocche dei Sette Fratelli in Treiso. Start and finish in the heart of Alba, at the foot of the cathedral. In 2026 the edition is even more special: a 50 km+ course is added, counting towards the Italian Long Trail Running Championship. Four distances in total: trail 50K+, marathon, half marathon and relay. But what makes it truly unique is what happens after: every participant is served a full "Piemonte in Tavola" excellence lunch. White truffle, Barbaresco wine, Piedmontese cuisine — it's not a refreshment stop, it's a celebration.
