The Maratón Internacional de Lanzarote takes place in December along the eastern coast of the island, with an average temperature of 21 degrees and clear skies. Runners can choose from 4 distances — 5 km, 10 km, half marathon and marathon — plus a 5 km Santa Claus fancy dress run and kids' races the day before. It is one of the most important running events in Lanzarote's sporting calendar and one of the last marathons of the year in Europe. The atmosphere is local, open and relaxed, welcoming all levels — from beginners to professional runners.
