What runners say

Running through the Prosecco vineyards with the UNESCO hills all around, knowing that at the end of the day a spit-roast prepared for hours is waiting for you, is one of those combinations that only exist in Italy. You run, you drink, you eat. Nothing more needed.

Why it's special

The only race in the world through the wineries and Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, UNESCO World Heritage site. Four distances — from the 10 km Bollicina to the 51 km ultra trail — with tastings along the route.

What's around

The Prosecco Run takes place among the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, the UNESCO World Heritage territory that produces the world's most famous Prosecco. The course winds through vineyards, wineries and hillside landscapes that in December have that quiet, rarified light you won't find in any other season. Four distances for all levels: the 10 km Bollicina, the 21 km half, the 42 km marathon and the 51 km ultra trail. But the race is also a festival: on Saturday 5 December there are two sittings dedicated to the traditional Treviso-style spit-roast — 150 seats for lunch, 300 for dinner — live music with The Fireplaces and wooden games throughout the day. The Trevigiano spit-roast is an officially recognised traditional agri-food product: preparation takes between 5 and 6 hours. It's not a refreshment stop — it's a celebration.
